Why not just use Nabu Casa Cloud?
Nabu Casa is great for remote access and voice-assistant linking — and it costs $6.50/mo for a reason. It doesn't do monitoring, doesn't do backups you can act on, doesn't do fleet management for installers, and it doesn't write your automations for you. We do all four. If all you need is remote access, save the $13/month delta and use Nabu Casa.
What if I want to leave?
One click in Home Assistant disconnects the agent. Your config + automations + dashboards live in your private git repo, which we hand over in full. Your gear was always yours. The agent is open source if you want to keep using it standalone.
What data do you collect?
Instance metadata (HA version, integration names + status), backup manifests, alert history, and the automations we write together. We don't store sensor values, camera frames, voice transcripts, or the contents of your automations in our metric DB — those stay on your hardware and in your git repo. Will you break my custom integrations?
The opposite — we test updates against your specific integration list in a sandbox before they hit your real instance. If a breaking change is coming, we either pin you back or write the migration ourselves. That's the whole point.
Do I need new hardware?
No. Your existing Home Assistant Green / Yellow / Pi / NUC / Proxmox setup works fine. We install one add-on. If your hardware is the bottleneck we'll tell you, but we won't sell you boxes you don't need.
What's an "automation credit," really?
About 30 minutes of automator time on a parameterized blueprint, or 15 minutes on something fully custom. A "vacation mode" build is usually 2 credits. A leak-response setup is usually 1. We quote each request before starting so there are no surprises. Unused credits roll forward one month, then expire.
